Constructionarium Australia’s 2023 Program Commences in partnership with MACA

Constructionarium Australia has welcomed its first Victorian cohort for 2023 as emerging industry professionals commenced their Program.

Constructionarium Australia has welcomed its first Victorian cohort for 2023 as emerging industry professionals commenced their Program and will work alongside leading contractor MACA to construct the Victorian Big Build Bridge.

Comprising an eight-days of theory, practical training, personal development and networking, the cohort will be challenged to tender, plan, procure and deliver a scale bridge structure to time and budget. Designed to replicate the practicalities of a major infrastructure project, the program will provide participants with an unrivalled experience as they gain exposure to the roles, critical tasks, challenges and opportunities associated with the delivery of major works.

“We are excited to get going for 2023,” said Constructionarium Australia’s Tanya Barmby “And delighted to welcome our cohort to our first build program of the year. On behalf of Constructionarium Australia, I am also delighted to welcome MACA to our build program as the lead contractor for the build. It is impossible to do what we do without the support of contractors, who provide team members, resources, expertise, leadership and mentoring to support each build and our cohort. We cannot thank MACA enough for their support to date and the passion they will bring to the year's first build.”

Taking place at Constructionarium Australia’s Hallam Site, the build commenced on Wednesday, February 1, culminating with a bridge opening ceremony on Friday, February 10.

Mark O’Reilly General Manager Civil and Infrastructure South of MACA welcomed the opportunity to be part of a Constructionarium Australia Big Build Bridge Program, “Constructionarium Australia is a fantastic example of how cross-industry collaboration can support the long-term sustainability, growth and development of the people who drive the construction and infrastructure sector in Victoria. With participants drawn from client organisations, design houses, contractors and the entire supply chain, the program will give unique perspectives to every participant as they work collaboratively to deliver their structure to their budget and schedule in conditions as close to the real world as possible.”

“Our entire team are excited to be part of the build. From project managers, site supervisors and our safety team who will be on-site supporting, advising and mentoring participants to our team members who will be part of the cohort, there is a sense of excitement across MACA as we align with a program that links directly to our core values and mirrors our approach to being part of a collaborative industry where people come first,” said Mark.
